The Naugatuck Valley Maternal Child Health Coalition is a collaborative initiative led by the Naugatuck Valley Health District (NVHD) and the Connecticut Breastfeeding Coalition (CBC). We are committed to improving maternal and child health outcomes through advocacy, education, and community engagement. Our coalition works to create supportive environments for families by promoting breastfeeding, workplace accommodations, and maternal-infant health initiatives.

This initiative encourages businesses to display a sticker indicating they are a safe space for breastfeeding. Businesses interested in participating can display a decal. To learn more or request a decal, contact Carissa Caserta at ccaserta@nvhd.org.
The Naugatuck Valley Maternal Child Health Coalition’s Breastfeeding-Friendly Worksite Initiative, in partnership with the CBC, recognizes employers who actively support breastfeeding employees. This program also provides resources for employers who want to create a breastfeeding-friendly worksite and continue to foster a workplace culture that supports breastfeeding and pumping. To learn more on how to apply visit:Breastfeeding Friendly Worksites

We encourage businesses, employers, and community members to support our initiatives. Whether through displaying a decal, applying for Breastfeeding-Friendly Worksite recognition, or spreading awareness, every action helps create a more supportive environment for breastfeeding families.
